Before buying replacement print cartridges, verify the
correct part number.
(for the ViewPlus PIA use VPT9003-00, sold in packages of
3)
To replace or insert cartridge:
- Load
paper
- Be
sure that the PIA is attached to the ViewPlus Pro.
- Turn
on the embosser.
- Put
your finger on the grooved part of the door on the top of the PIA, and
slide the door open.

- While
the door is open, the ink cartridges should be positioned for easy access.
- Remove
the ink cartridges from the packaging and carefully remove the plastic
tape.
Caution! Do
not touch the print cartridge ink nozzles or copper contacts. Touching these parts will result in clogs,
ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
Do not remove the copper strips.
They are required electrical contacts. Like all ink cartridges these ink
cartridges are susceptible to drying out if exposed to the air or not used for
extended periods.

- Hold
the print cartridge so that the copper strip is on the top and the plastic
tab is on the bottom facing away from the printer. Then insert the print cartridge top
first into the cradle as shown. Do
the same procedure for the second print cartridge.

- You
will see the message (Replace Cart. 1(or2) ? ) and hear the message, "Select to
confirm Cartridge 1 (or 2) replacement"
- Confirm
by pressing the Select button. If
you have replaced both cartridges, you must repeat steps 8 and 9.
- Follow
the instructions in the manual for the Ink-Emboss Alignment.
All ink cartridges are sensitive to exposure to air, and the
ink path needs to be kept filled with ink.
The PIA design made it necessary to position the ink cartridges in a
manner that makes them slightly more susceptible to drying out if not used on a
regular basis.
If you are going to move your PIA,
your ink cartridges should be removed and stored. If you know that you are not going to be
using the PIA for an extended length of time, there are two options. One is to remove the PIA from the ViewPlus
Pro and store it with the label down. Two would be to remove the ink cartridges and
store them.
If you want to keep the ink level counter accurate, do not confirm that you've replaced the
cartridge.
